coffee cups are metal healthy drink?
I wonder if he has done research on health issues (if any) consumption of Stainless Steel Coffee Mugs. Links or sources please. I could not find any. I stopped drinking plastic ones because I am concerned about possible leaching, but I prefer not to jump from the frying pan into the fire.
The concept of "stainless" means that the steel is designed to resist rust, which is just another form of a chemical reaction. It would also help to prevent the acids in coffee to attack the steel and metal leaching out of it. Notice I said "help" to prevent. metal etching, by nature. Stainless steel does contain nickel, which is toxic. Skip to unleaded, glazed ceramic cups.

This report focuses on the political economy and institutional aspects of agricultural commodity market reform. In order to explore in detail factors that are critical to the processes, consequences, and substance of reform, the authors have focused the analysis and evaluation on five commodities important in many developing countries, specifically cocoa, coffee, sugar, cotton, and cereal. In doing so, they highlight important lessons on how agricultural sector reform can be launched and implemented. Some of the factors identified in the report as being key to successful reform include the recognition that commodity markets often affect communities and even politics, that the initial conditions of markets are critical, and that government intervention can crowd out private sector initiatives, especially when it comes to building the institutions needed to develop a healthy agricultural sector. |

Participants were part of a longitudinal study of non-Hispanic white girls, predominantly middle class, (n=170) living in central Pennsylvania, assessed biennially from 5 to 15 y. At each assessment, intake of beverage (milk, 100% fruit juice, and sweetened beverages: fruit drinks, sodas, and tea/coffee), and dietary intake were assessed using three, 24-hour recalls. Percent body fat and waist circumference were measured. Height and weight were measured and used to calculate body mass index. A series of mixed modeling analyses were used to describe changes in beverage intake and the impact of early beverage intake on girls’ dietary intake and measures of adiposity over time. Results revealed that although total beverage intake servings did not change from 5 to 15 y, major shifts occurred in the contribution of servings of various types of beverages. Milk and fruit juice declined, while soda and tea/coffee increased and fruit drinks remained unchanged. Early difference in soda intake predicted later soda intake and differences in beverage related food groups and nutrients. In addition, higher intake of sweetened beverage at 5 y, but not milk or fruit juice, was associated with greater adiposity and weight status in childhood and adolescence. This association was independent of energy intake at study entry and concurrent age sweetened beverage intake.
