Remember, you are making a significant investment. You should make the final agreement depends on a satisfactory inspection. The inspection is to confirm that no major structural repairs are necessary, or can highlight the problems that kill the deal. A few hundred dollars for the inspection could save you thousands.
Handyman specials are probably the best properties to invest in. You can buy an attractive, below market prices and quickly add value with some minor repairs.
