Five Easy Tips for healthy holiday
It's the holiday season once again. Did you know that the average person gain between 7 and 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year? – Replace the traditional stuffing with an assortment of chopped vegetables. Fill your turkey with mushrooms, eggplant, onions and celery. Or replace half of your traditional stuffing with chopped vegetables.
– Flavor your mashed potatoes with roasted garlic instead of butter. Or serve baked sweet potatoes instead of butter over mashed potatoes.
– Vegetables roasted without oil – used cooking spray instead and mix with dill.
– Use the unsweetened applesauce or pureed plums instead of butter or oil in dessert recipes.
– Develop an assortment of fruit for dessert instead of pies.

Tip # 3: Use strategy.
Traditional Thanksgiving foods are not all created equal – nutritionally that is. Tip # 4: Pace yourself.
More trouble at Thanksgiving dinner by eating at full speed until they realize they are full (after their second and third assists). The problem with this method is the lag time communication between the stomach and the brain. In fact, you probably will satisfy your hunger with your first plate of food, but your stomach will take some time convey this message to your brain. And during that lag time that you took the opportunity to go to your plate, second and third of the food. This year, sitting quietly in your chair after the first plate and wait at least 20 minutes before seconds. You will be surprised that the thought more food does not sound much – and you saved yourself unnecessary weight gain.
