What is a Turkish Gulet?

Gulet cruising is one of the most popular activities that guests can enjoy all exploring the temptations of the Turkish Riviera. It is no exaggeration to say that they are in Turkey that the gondola is to Venice or the tram of Melbourne. The modern cruise industry has evolved to exploit schooner fully the beauties of the Aegean coast of Turkey, offering visitors an unforgettable view of a country as attractive, a perfect opportunity to enjoy the warm waters and secluded coves of this breathtaking region. But what makes a Gulet a schooner?

A Gulet is a wooden boat while engine is reputed for offering the zenith of luxury. Although primarily motor, they often boast the topsails as secondary, and quieter, the means of propulsion. Richly designed to be both pleasing to the eye and appealing to the needs of the discerning traveler, they are the product of a maritime heritage that is unparalleled. From classical times through the Ottoman Empire and beyond the region of Turkey is known for the quality of its craftsmen and the elegance of its ships. The schooner is the modern representation of this tradition.

The name "Gulet is thought to come from the French word" Golette "(meaning" Schooner "), but it can also be an adaptation the Venetian word "Galiota" (which means "Galleon"). As with the linguistic history although there are many theories, but nothing is certain. What is certain is the form of modern ship you enjoy a cruise schooner.

Built with a wide, flat deck, a large round stern, two masts and strong, square sails, the schooner yacht is accurate and unique treatment to enjoy your holiday in Turkey. Many, very accurately, describe them as small hotels that float on the sea schooners off nine months to two years to be completed, the majority being completed in about twelve months. Costs can range from € 100,000 for a single vessel of 15m to a maximum of € 1 million for the most impressive examples. Some yards use steel or fiberglass for the hull, but the main building material is still Pine. Found in three varieties: white, red and black, latter two are preferred for their strength as a building material. Once in the water, a well maintained can last up to 30 Gulet years. Each winter most boats are hauled out and stored in a dry place under mild conditions to prevent unnecessary aging of the hull.

A cruise is usually organized on a Gulet charter and can operate for some time that you want, from one day a week or more. Facilities often include lounges cushions, libraries, private cabins, air conditioning, terraces, one containing the main cabin dining table and bar, and all presented in an impressive mahogany and burnished brass. What is the best that you are more likely to be accompanied by a friendly match, the local dynamic and experienced team to share the charm of the region by you.

So what are you waiting for?

UCHAREST is Bucharest, and therefore is not in the least like any other place in the world. Just as a Roumanian is a Roumanian, without a shadow of resemblance to a Turk, a Bosnian, a Galician, a Serb, a Montenegrin, or a Greek. It is not the East, still less the West. You see that directly, for though your banker gives you liras against your letter of credit, you look round in vain for the minarets and the veiled women in white cerecloths. It is neither flesh, nor fowl, nor good red-herring. You can drink braga like a Bulgarian, sherbet like a Mussulman, beer like a German student, or petit Bordeaux like a Paris bourgeois. You can eat your dinnerlying down on a sofa, with your repast on a little round, low Turkish table, not a span high, or you can banquet off mahogany on castors. You can sup oft’ Turkish halixke, or Russian pilaff, or Hungarian paprica, or even the biftecks saignants of ” Albion the Perfidious.” You can curl yourself upon a divan in a delightful, Bohemian sort of way, or you can go to bed in sober, decorous fashion between a pair of sheets, with an eiderdown quilt and a brass foot-rail. You may have your shaving-water brought by a dapper French garçon, or a lumpish Swiss Kellner, or a glittering Albanian, or a gold-earringed Hungarian rendais, or even by a Jäger in hunting clothes and a plume of white feathers, like his Serene Highness the Grand Duke of Katzenbuckel. If you go out in your elegant carriage that would do credit to the Bois, your horses can stumble knee-deep into crevasses that yawn in the roadway and play the very mischief with your patent springs. If you become tired of being jolted, and thumped, and bumped about, and are rash enough to get out and walk, you can sink over the tops of yourlacquered boots in white
